On October 25, 2025, we will join people across the globe in celebrating World Sauna Day – an international initiative that invites everyone to step into the warmth of the sauna. It’s not only a chance to relax on a dark autumn evening but also to be part of a worldwide movement celebrating sauna culture.
What is World Sauna Day?
World Sauna Day is a free initiative that began in Finland and takes place twice a year. It is organized by the saunaday.com community in collaboration with partners such as Sauna from Finland, visitsauna.com, Villa Furuvik, Saunat.fi, Osaamistehdas.
The aim is simple: to bring people together through sauna – regardless of country, traditions, or type of sauna – and to highlight sauna as an essential practice for health and wellbeing. This year marks the second edition of the event, taking place on Saturday, October 25th. Everyone is encouraged to register their private or public sauna on saunaday.com, where it will appear on the global sauna map.
Share the Warmth, Do Good
By participating, you’re not only celebrating sauna culture but also helping people in need. For every registered sauna, 1 EUR will be donated to Sauna Aid, an initiative that provides mobile and stationary saunas in refugee camps, disaster areas, and war-torn regions. Together, we can make a real difference and share the healing warmth of sauna with those who need it most.
Nordic Sauna x Stockmann Riga
As proud members of the Finnish Chamber of Commerce in Latvia, we are delighted to team up with Stockmann Riga this autumn to promote Nordic wellbeing and sauna culture. Starting October 6th, our demo saunas will be on display at Stockmann for two weeks.
How to Take Part
Public sauna owners: List your sauna on saunaday.com with details such as location, type, visiting hours, capacity, and any special rituals or workshops you plan to host.
Private sauna owners: Invite friends, family, or neighbors to enjoy your sauna and share the experience.
Visitors: Explore the global sauna map on saunaday.com to discover saunas by location, type, and events.
All registered saunas will appear on the global map – giving public saunas extra visibility. Private saunas may choose not to display their exact address, but registration is still encouraged, as every entry means another 1 EUR donated to Sauna Aid.
